The journey begins: the business opens in Sumatrastrasse in Zurich.
The first prosthetic challenges are tackled at two wooden tables, each with a table motor and a sparsely equipped dental laboratory. Demand is high. The small dental technology company is soon able to hire its first employees.
The dental team continues to grow with three new employees and the company’s first apprentice.
1953
Commissioning of the first ceramic furnace
The commissioning of a ceramic furnace marks a decisive technological advance in dentistry. The first jacket crowns are soon produced.

The team moves into new premises in a central location at Weinbergstrasse 24.

THE SEILER SCHEIDEGGER TEAM IN 1986
1986
Thomas Mauerer and Bernhard Scheidegger take over the management of the company after bolstering the dental clinic since their training in the 1960s.
1995
Dental technicians begin producing zirconium crowns, which, even today, are still among the preferred materials for dental restorations thanks to their aesthetics, biocompatibility and durability.

Purchase of the first milling machine

Accuracy and productivity are increased by the company’s first CNC milling machine.

2009
The CNC machine is commissioned
The new Datron D5 CNC machine becomes the centrepiece of the production centre.
First 3D printer
Seiler Scheidegger Dentaltechnik further increases its precision and efficiency with its first 3D printer.

2017
The dental laboratory becomes a certified “NobelProcera® network laboratory” and “Straumann® Original Ambassador”.

Thomas Mauerer hands over management to Mattias Kaister , Daniel Müller and Christian Widmer. They have also been with Seiler Scheidegger Dentaltechnik since their apprenticeship, and are now the third generation to run the dental laboratory.

First TruPrint 1000 in Switzerland
The new management focuses on sustainable, premium-quality 3D printing and invests in a TruPrint 1000.
Seiler Scheidegger Dentaltechnik has established itself over many years as one of the leading dental laboratories for holistic dentistry in Switzerland, and is starting the new year with a refreshed design and an expanded range of services.
