The history of Seiler Scheidegger Dentaltechnik begins in 1948.

Rudolf Seiler and Werner Scheidegger meet at a dental conference. Connected by their common passion for holistic dental technology and their experiences, which complement each other perfectly, they decide to found their own dental laboratory.

The journey begins: the business opens in Sumatrastrasse in Zurich.

The first prosthetic challenges are tackled at two wooden tables, each with a table motor and a sparsely equipped dental laboratory. Demand is high. The small dental technology company is soon able to hire its first employees.

The dental team continues to grow with three new employees and the company’s first apprentice.

Change in management

Thomas Mauerer and Bernhard Scheidegger take over the management of the company after bolstering the dental clinic since their training in the 1960s.

Dental technicians begin producing zirconium crowns, which, even today, are still among the preferred materials for dental restorations thanks to their aesthetics, biocompatibility and durability.

Purchase of the first milling machine

Accuracy and productivity are increased by the company’s first CNC milling machine.
